Join us on a journey through Southern Star’s methane reduction efforts over the last 5 years. This session will detail actionable initiatives taken by Southern Star to encourage company-wide buy-in and cultural shift around emissions.

This session is designed for environmental and operations professionals in oil and gas who are navigating:

  • Designing and implementing a systematic, cost-effective methane management program
  • Alignment on approach and priorities across functions and locations
  • Strategies to minimize emissions and maximize efficiency in a capital prudent manner

Attendees will receive 1 Professional Development Hour (PDH) upon completion.

Meet the Presenter

Ben Carlisle

Manager, Environmental Compliance and Permitting, Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline


Ben Carlisle serves as the Manager, Environmental Compliance and Permitting at Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, a 5,800-mile transmission pipeline in the Midwest and Mid-Continent regions. Ben and his staff are responsible for all environmental aspects at Southern Star, including waste management and reduction, regulatory compliance, methane reduction, and all project permitting efforts. Under his direction, Southern Star has seen greater than 50% reduction in methane emissions since 2020. A Kentucky native, Ben received his Bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and also carries a Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) credential.
